Jens Ove Andreasen
Jens Ove Andreasen (DDS Dr. Odont. hc.) (1935-2020) is considered the Father of Dental Traumatology. Founder of Dental Trauma Guide. He specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1968 having actively worked on the field for more than 50 years. He worked clinically and experimentally in traumatic dental injuries, tooth replantation, tooth transplantation, tooth eruption and tooth impactation. He was the author of 12 textbooks and 400 scientific articles. President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology from 1989-2001. Jens passed away in 2020, but the team behind the Dental Trauma Guide is determined to continue his work and mission to spread knowledge about the correct treatment of dental trauma. The Dental Trauma Guide and the Copenhagen Symposia will continue with Jens Ove Andreasen’s spirit and in his honor.
Eva Lauridsen (DDS, PhD) graduated from Copenhagen Dental School in 1998.
She has a background in pediatric dentistry and was for a number of years employed at the department of pediatric dentistry, Copenhagen Dental School and Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet. Her main research area is dental traumatology and she has authored several scientific articles and book chapters in this field. Since 2006 Eva has been an active part of the Dental Trauma Guide research and development group and head of the Dental Trauma Guide research clinic.
Lars Andersson (DDS PhD DrOdont) received his undergraduate and research training in 1970s and 80s at Karolinska Institute, Sweden.
Specialist and Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Sweden during the 80s and 90s. Professor and Chairman Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Kuwait University 2002-2017. Senior Professor Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Malmö University, Sweden since 2017. He has published more than 100 scientific articles in Medline indexed journals, of which many are in the field of traumatology. Author and editor of textbooks in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology.
Tue Frigaard Hansen is a creative freelance 3D illustrator and owner of 360 Degree.
He graduted from Lancaster University in England in 2001 as graphic designer with specialty in technical illustration. His work for the resource Centre for Rare Oral Diseases and Department of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery at the University Hospital of Copenhagen, includes web design and development, graphic design, technical illustrations, motion graphics and 3D animations.
Tim Holberg Fog (MSc, CEO) is General Manager at The Dental Trauma Guide Team,
Secretary to the Board of Directors of The Dental Trauma Guide and Managing director, TandplejeInformation Private-Public-Partnership.
Trine Flindt-Larsen is project manager for Dental Trauma Guide.
She handles the majority of the inquiries to DTG and is responsible for the daily administration. With her background in dentistry and knowledge of IT, Trine will help and guide our users in the best possible way.
Josephine Solgaard (DDS) graduated from Copenhagen Dental School in 2020.
Since 2019 Josephine has been an active part of the Dental Trauma Guide research and development group, and seen patients at the Dental Trauma Guide research clinic.
Josephine has since 2022 been enrolled as a PhD student at Copenhagen universitet in the topic of dental traumatology.
Nanna Myser Olsen (MA International Business Communication) is project manager for Dental Trauma Guide. She handles the daily administration and communication to/from DTG. Nanna is responsible for marketing DTG worldwide.
Lone Vesterager is head of administration and finance for Dental Trauma Guide
Dr Georgios Tsilingaridis graduated from Karolinska Institutet in 1997, completed his postgraduate education in pediatric dentistry at Eastmaninstitutet in Stockholm in 2004, and received his PhD at Karolinska Institutet in 2013.
He is an associate professor, head of the division of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry and the vice dean at the Department of Dental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet.
He is the past-president of the Swedish Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the former council of Sweden at EAPD. He is currently serving as a member in several committees in both EAPD and IADT.
His main research field is dental traumatology and he is the author and co-author of several original scientific publications and textbooks including Textbook and Color Atlas of Traumatic Injuries to the Teeth and the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) guidelines.
Poul Folke Christensen (DDS) graduated from Aarhus Dental School in 1973.
He has a background in pediatric dentistry and was for several years employed at the department of pediatric dentistry, Aarhus Dental School. For 35 years he was leader of the public dentistry in the municipality of Viborg. Today he is co-owner and chairman of the board for TandplejeInformation Private-Public-Partnership.
Thomas Steengaard graduated as D.D.S from Aarhus University in 1996. He became board certified specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2004, from Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Aarhus University Hospital. In 2005, he defended his PhD-thesis, at Aarhus University, on Distraction Osteogenesis.
In 2007 he was appointed Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Rigshospitalet, in Copenhagen.
Since 2011 appointed as Head of Department at Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital.
Simon Storgård Jensen DDS from the School of Dentistry, University of Copenhagen 1996, certified specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 2004. Since 2005 Senior consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon and Head of the division treating patients with congenital missing teeth and early trauma related tooth loss at the Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Copenhagen University Hospital. From 2019 professor at the Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dental Medicine, University of Copenhagen. Main research and focus areas are: Implant dentistry, bone augmentation procedures, surgical endodontics and odontogenic infections.

Regional anchorpersons


Juliana Vilela Bastos (DDS, PhD) is associate professor of endodontics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where she coordinates the Dental Trauma Center being actively involved with dental trauma education, research and multidisciplinary care. She is also helping Dental Trauma Guide to ensure the quality of the site in Brazilian Portuguese, and assists in spreading knowledge about Dental Trauma Guide in that part of the world.
Marie Therese Flores (DDS) is professor of Pediatric Dentistry, School of Dentistry, Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile. She is a current Director of the Board of the International Association of Dental Traumatology and served as President of the IADT from 2003 to 2006. She is a co-author of the Guidelines for the Management of Traumatic Dental Injuries, published by the IADT in 2007. Since 2001, she has served at the editorial board for the Journal of Dental Traumatology. She monitors the quality of the Spanish version of the Dental Trauma Guide and promotes its use in Latin America.

Dental Trauma Guide contributors


Søren Steno Ahrensburg Christensen (MSC) specialised in biochemistry/software development. He graduated from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 2002. He has worked 4 years for the IBM Personal Systems Group as a technical support for the sales team. He developed the first version of the website in collaboration with Dr. Jens Ove Andreasen at the University Hospital of Copenhagen.
Thomas Alexander Gerds, Mathematician and Statistician. He studied mathematics (graduated 1998) and biostatistics (Dr.rer.nat. 2002) in Freiburg, Germany. Between 1999-2006 he was working as statistical consultant for the Department of Prosthodontics, Albert-Ludwig, University of Freiburg. Since 2007 he is employed at the Section of Biostatistics at the Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen. His research has a focus on risk prediction models and survival analysis. Since 2007 he collaborates with The Dental Trauma Team in Copenhagen.
Leif Bakland (DDS) is professor at the Department of Endodontics, School of Dentistry, Loma Linda University in California, USA. He is co-editor of Ingle’s Endodontics, 4th, 5th and 6th editions, a manual of Dental Traumatology 1st, 2nd and 3rd edition, Textbook and Color Atlas of Traumatic Dental Injuries to the Teeeth, 3rd edition and associate editor of Dental Traumatology.
