When bonding and replanting tooth roots after a vertical fracture, the application of EMD was effective in regenerating cementum on root surfaces from which periodontal ligament had been lost in the area around the fracture line and in reducing the incidence of root resorption. Read full abstract.
JOA & EL: This is a very interesting observation dealing with a hopeless condition of a vertical crown-root fracture. Long-term studies of the eventual fate of crown-root fracture are desperately needed. Will an epithelial downgrowth occur along the glued fracture site?
